Understanding Your OBDAI Logins & Passwords

Short answer: The OBDAI app, the obdai.app store, and your personal email are three completely separate logins. Changing your password in one place does NOT change it anywhere else.


Why Am I Confused?

Because you probably used the same email address in more than one place. That does not mean they share a password. Each system has its own account, its own password, and its own reset process. They do not talk to each other.


The Three Separate Logins

1. Your Personal Email (Gmail, AOL, Outlook, Yahoo, etc.)

This is the email account you use every day. Google, AOL, Yahoo, iCloud, whatever. OBDAI has absolutely nothing to do with this password. We cannot see it, change it, or reset it.

2. The OBDAI Store (obdai.app)

This is the website where you purchased your OBDAI bundle. When you placed your order, the store created an account for you. This account is ONLY for the store. It lets you view orders, check order status, and download invoices at obdai.app.

This login has nothing to do with the OBDAI app on your phone or computer. Changing your store password will not change your app password.

3. The OBDAI App (The One You Use Every Day)

This is the login screen you see when you open the OBDAI app on your phone, tablet, or computer. It shows the OBDAI logo, says “Welcome,” and asks for your Email address and Password. You can also sign in with Google, Microsoft, or Apple.

This is completely separate from the store and from your email. It is its own system with its own password.


Common Problems and Fixes

“I changed my password but it still doesn’t work”

You probably changed your password on the wrong system. There are three places you could change a password, and none of them affect the others:

  • Changed your Gmail/AOL/Yahoo password? That only changes your email. The OBDAI app password is unchanged.
  • Changed your obdai.app store password? That only changes your store login. The OBDAI app password is unchanged.
  • Changed your OBDAI app password? That only changes the app. Your email and store passwords are unchanged.

Make sure you are resetting the password for the right system.

“I forgot my OBDAI app password”

  1. Open the OBDAI app and tap Login
  2. You will see the Welcome screen with the OBDAI logo
  3. Tap “Forgot password?” (the blue text under the Password box)
  4. Enter the email address you used when you signed up for OBDAI
  5. Check your email inbox for a password reset link (check Spam and Junk folders too)
  6. Tap the link in the email and set a new password
  7. Go back to the app and log in with your email and your new password

If the reset email does not arrive after a few minutes, double check that you entered the correct email address. Your OBDAI app account might be under a different email than you think.

“I signed in with Google/Apple but my Premium is gone”

Your Premium subscription is tied to a specific email address. If you signed in with Google (e.g. yourname@gmail.com) but your purchase was made under a different email (e.g. yourname@aol.com), the app will not find your Premium subscription.

Fix: Log out of the app. Log back in using the email address that matches your original purchase. Check your order confirmation email if you are not sure which email you used.

“My store password doesn’t work in the app”

Correct. It will not work. The obdai.app store and the OBDAI app are two completely separate systems. Your store account is only for managing orders on the website. Your app account is only for using OBDAI on your devices. They have separate passwords even if you used the same email address for both.

“I tried to reset my password but I’m not getting the email”

  • Check your Spam, Junk, and Promotions folders
  • Make sure you are entering the correct email address
  • Make sure you are resetting the right account (store vs app)
  • The store password reset comes from obdai.app. The app password reset comes from login.ontarioanalytics.com. They are different emails from different systems.
