How to Activate Your OBDAI License

Short answer: Open the OBDAI app, go to Settings, tap “Redeem Code,” and enter your license key. Your Premium access activates immediately across all your devices.

Where to Find Your License Code

Purchased from obdai.app/shop:

  • Your license code was emailed to you immediately after purchase
  • Check your inbox (and spam folder) for an email from OBDAI or WooCommerce
  • The code is also printed on a sticker inside your hardware package (if you ordered a bundle)

Purchased from Amazon:

  • Your license code is printed on a sticker inside the product packaging
  • Look for a label with a code in the format: OBDAI-XX-XXXX-XXXX

Step-by-Step Activation

Step 1: Download the OBDAI App

If you haven’t already, download OBDAI for your device:

This link detects your device and sends you to the correct app store (iOS, Android, or Windows).

Step 2: Create an Account or Sign In

Open OBDAI and sign in using Google, Apple, Microsoft, or email. This account is how your Premium access syncs across all your devices.

Important: Use the same sign-in method on all your devices. If you sign in with Google on your phone, sign in with Google on your tablet and computer too.

Step 3: Open the Redemption Screen

  1. Tap the gear icon (Settings) — usually in the top corner or side menu
  2. Look for “Redeem Code” or “Activate License”
  3. Tap it to open the redemption screen

Can’t find it? On some versions, it’s under Settings → Subscription → Redeem Code.

Step 4: Enter Your License Code

  1. Type or paste your license code exactly as shown (including dashes)
  2. Format: OBDAI-XX-XXXX-XXXX
  3. Tap Redeem or Activate

Amazon purchases only: You’ll also need to enter your Amazon Order ID. This is the 17-digit number from your Amazon order confirmation (format: XXX-XXXXXXX-XXXXXXX). You can find it in your Amazon order history.

Step 5: Confirmation

If successful, you’ll see a confirmation message. Your Premium access is now active.

Restart the app if Premium features don’t appear immediately. Some devices need a fresh start to load the new entitlement.

How Do I Know My License Is Activated?

Once activated, you’ll notice these changes:

  • No more upgrade prompts — The paywall screens disappear
  • Unlimited ARIA conversations — No daily caps or response limits
  • Premium badge — Some screens show a Premium indicator in Settings or your profile
  • Settings shows expiration date — Go to Settings → Subscription to see when your Premium expires

If you’re unsure, ask ARIA: “Am I on Premium?” — she’ll tell you your current status.

Troubleshooting Activation Issues

“Invalid code” error

  • Double-check for typos — codes are case-sensitive
  • Make sure you’re entering the full code including dashes
  • Don’t confuse letter O with number 0, or letter I with number 1

“Code already redeemed” error

  • Each license code can only be activated once
  • If you activated it before (even on a different device), sign in with the same account to access your existing Premium
  • If someone else used your code, contact support@obdai.app

“Invalid Amazon Order ID” error (Amazon purchases only)

  • The Order ID format is XXX-XXXXXXX-XXXXXXX (three groups of numbers)
  • Copy it directly from your Amazon order confirmation email
  • Make sure you’re using the order that contained the OBDAI product

Premium not showing after successful activation

  1. Close and reopen the app — This refreshes your entitlement
  2. Sign out and sign back in — Go to Settings → Sign Out, then sign in again
  3. Check your internet connection — The app needs to sync with our servers
  4. Wait a few minutes — Sometimes there’s a short delay

App crashes during redemption

  • Update to the latest version of OBDAI from your app store
  • Restart your device
  • Try again on a different device (your Premium will sync once activated)

Using Premium on Multiple Devices

Your license works on all your devices — phones, tablets, computers. Here’s how:

  1. Activate the code on ONE device (follow steps above)
  2. Sign in with the same account on your other devices
  3. Premium syncs automatically — no need to enter the code again

Example: Activate on your Android phone, then sign into the Windows app with the same Google account. Premium is already there.

Important: You must use the same sign-in method. Google on one device, Google on all devices.

License vs. App Store Subscription

License codes (from our shop or Amazon):

  • Prepaid for a fixed term (3 months or 12 months)
  • Do NOT auto-renew
  • Activated by entering a code

App store subscriptions (Google Play, Apple, Microsoft):

  • Auto-renew monthly or annually
  • Managed through the app store
  • No code needed — just purchase in-app

Both unlock the same Premium features. You don’t need both — choose one method.

If you have a license AND an app store subscription running simultaneously, you’re paying twice. Cancel the app store subscription to avoid double billing.
