Short answer: How you cancel depends on where you bought. Bundle subscriptions (purchased at obdai.app/shop) are canceled in your account at obdai.app/my-account → Subscriptions. App store subscriptions (Google Play, App Store, Microsoft Store) must be canceled through that store — OBDAI can’t cancel those for you, and deleting your OBDAI account does NOT stop app store billing. Either way, you keep Premium until the end of the term you’ve already paid for.
Cancel a Bundle Subscription (bought at obdai.app/shop)
Bundles purchased from obdai.app/shop include an annual Premium subscription managed directly by OBDAI. You can cancel it yourself, anytime:
- Sign in at obdai.app/my-account/subscriptions/
- Find your OBDAI Premium (or PRO) subscription
- Click Cancel
Canceling stops your next annual renewal. You keep full Premium access through the end of the term you’ve already paid for, then your account drops to the free tier. Your scanner keeps working either way.
Bought on Amazon instead? Amazon bundles activate with a license code and do not auto-renew — there’s nothing to cancel. Your Premium simply runs for its term.
Cancel an App Store Subscription (Apple, Google, Microsoft)
If you subscribed through an app store, that store handles billing — OBDAI never sees your payment details and can’t cancel or refund on your behalf. This is how all app store subscriptions work. Cancel through the store you used, below.
Cancel on Android (Google Play)
Method 1: Through Google Play Store
- Open the Google Play Store app
- Tap your profile picture (top right)
- Tap Payments & subscriptions
- Tap Subscriptions
- Find and tap OBDAI Premium
- Tap Cancel subscription
- Follow the prompts to confirm
Method 2: Through OBDAI App
- Open OBDAI
- Tap the menu icon (top left) to open the side panel
- Scroll to the bottom
- Tap Manage Subscription
- This opens Google Play directly to your OBDAI subscription
- Tap Cancel subscription

Method 1: Through Settings
- Open Settings on your iPhone or iPad
- Tap your name at the top (Apple ID)

Cancel on Windows (Microsoft Store)
Method 1: Microsoft Account Website
- Go to account.microsoft.com/services
- Sign in with the same Microsoft account you used to purchase OBDAI
- Find OBDAI Premium in your subscriptions list
- Click Manage
- Click Cancel or Turn off recurring billing
Method 2: Recent Purchase / Refund Request
If you purchased within the last 24-48 hours and want a refund:
- Go to account.microsoft.com/billing/orders
- Find your OBDAI purchase
- Click Request a refund (if available)
Note: Microsoft’s refund policy varies. Recent purchases are more likely to qualify.
What Happens After Canceling?
- You keep access until the end of your current billing period
- No partial refunds — if you cancel mid-month, you still have access until the month ends
- Your data stays — canceling doesn’t delete your OBDAI account or vehicle history
- You can resubscribe anytime — through the app store, or by buying a bundle at obdai.app/shop
Common Questions
Will deleting the OBDAI app cancel my subscription?
No. Deleting the app does not stop billing. You must cancel through the store (instructions above).
Will deleting my OBDAI account cancel my subscription?
No. Your OBDAI account and your app store subscription are separate. Deleting your account does not affect billing.
I canceled but I’m still being charged
This usually means one of two things:
- You have multiple subscriptions — Check if you subscribed on more than one platform (e.g., Google Play AND Microsoft Store)
- You canceled a different app — Make sure you canceled “OBDAI Premium” specifically, not a similarly-named app
Can I get a refund?
Refund policies are controlled by each store:

- Microsoft Store: support.microsoft.com/en-us/account-billing/get-a-refund-for-apps-and-games-purchased-from-microsoft-store
OBDAI cannot process refunds — only the store where you purchased can.
I bought a hardware bundle — how do I cancel?
Bundles from obdai.app/shop include an annual Premium subscription you manage in your OBDAI account — cancel it anytime at obdai.app/my-account/subscriptions/ (see the steps at the top of this article). Canceling stops the next renewal; you keep Premium until your paid term ends.
If you’re being charged by both OBDAI and an app store, you may have subscribed twice. Cancel whichever you don’t want — your access continues until that term ends.
