Short answer: Emissions (smog/emissions prep), Diagnostic (general DTC analysis), Pre-Purchase (buyer evaluation), and Estimate (repair cost estimates). All four are AI-generated from actual scan session data and can be edited before finalizing to PDF.
The 4 Report Types
Each report type has a distinct color and purpose. You pick the type when generating a report from a vehicle’s detail page.
1. Emissions Report (Green)
Use when a customer needs documentation for a smog or emissions test. The AI focuses on readiness monitor status, MIL (check engine light) status, and emissions-related DTCs. Hand this to the customer before they go to the testing station.
2. Diagnostic Report (Blue)
General-purpose diagnostic report. Covers all DTCs found, descriptions, severity, and ARIA’s analysis. Use this when you need to document what’s wrong with a vehicle. This is the one you’ll use most often.
3. Pre-Purchase Report (Orange)
Use when a customer is evaluating a vehicle before buying. Covers diagnostic health, potential issues, and overall vehicle condition assessment. Good for used car lots and independent inspections.
4. Estimate Report (Purple)
Use when a customer needs a repair cost estimate. The AI focuses on identified issues and estimated repair costs. Pair this with your shop’s labor rates for a complete quote.

What Every Report Type Includes
All four types share the same capabilities:
- AI-generated from your actual scan session data
- Editable in the markdown editor before finalizing
- AI Refine tool: type instructions like “add more detail about the P0171 code” or “make the summary shorter” and the AI revises the report
- Your shop branding (logo, name, contact info) applied automatically when finalized to PDF
- Permanently saved in your Reports library
- Report type shown as a colored badge on the Reports page: green for Emissions, blue for Diagnostic, orange for Pre-Purchase, purple for Estimate
PRO Required
Report generation is a PRO feature. Non-PRO users see dimmed report buttons on the vehicle detail page and a “Pro Feature” lock on the report generation page.
