Why Isn’t the Dashboard Working?

Short answer: The most common issues are using the wrong login, not having a PRO subscription, or not having any scan data yet. Check each one below.

“Premium Subscription Required”

This is the most common issue. You’re logged in, but you see a lock icon and the message “Premium Subscription Required” with an “Upgrade to OBDAI Premium” prompt.

The dashboard requires a PRO subscription. If you have Premium but not PRO, you’ll see this gate. If you believe you have PRO, check that you’re logged into the correct account.

How to verify: Go to Settings (gear icon in sidebar) and scroll to the Account section. Your plan should show “PRO.” If it shows anything else, you don’t have an active PRO subscription on this account.

No Sessions, Vehicles, or Reports

The dashboard shows data that syncs from the OBDAI mobile app. If you just set up your account or haven’t scanned any vehicles yet, the dashboard will be empty.

You’ll see messages like:

  • “No scan sessions yet. Start scanning with the OBDAI app!”
  • “No reports yet”

Fix: Open the OBDAI app on your phone or computer, connect to a vehicle, and run a scan. Session data uploads automatically. Come back to the dashboard and your data will be there.

Blank Page or Login Loop

If the dashboard shows a blank page or keeps redirecting you to the login screen:

  1. Clear your browser cache and cookies for dashboard.obdai.app
  2. Try a different browser
  3. Try incognito/private mode
  4. Make sure JavaScript is enabled and no browser extensions are blocking the page

If none of that works, email support@obdai.app with your browser name/version and what you see.

Session Shows “Brief” Tag

Sessions under 60 seconds are tagged “Brief.” This means the connection was lost or ended before a full scan completed. Brief sessions may have incomplete data.

Sessions with no recorded end time show an “Incomplete” tag.

Fix: Reconnect to the vehicle in the OBDAI app and run a full scan. Make sure the OBD-II adapter stays plugged in and the ignition stays on for the duration of the scan.

Vehicle Image Not Showing

Vehicle images are pulled automatically based on VIN. Not all vehicles have images available in the database. This is cosmetic only — it does not affect any functionality, data, or reports.
